  8. love it....however....If I were a betting man, I'd say that started life as a 57 Pontiac.

PONTIAC!! :) good eye.... I looked at the dash and figured it was not a 55 or 56 Chevy, and convinced myself that the rear wheel wells were modified o_O rather than considering it being a Pontiac.
(let's just keep this between you and me. nobody else has to know )

  11. Our 57 today. big block, super T-10, rack and pinion power steering, adjustable front coil overs, 2005 Cadillac CTS seats.

  12. Still can't decide if I like a chopped 57. Some days yes... other days, no way. Maybe it's the color... I don't know.
I like the looks of it from the rear though.

I don't dislike the chop on that '57, but I can't get over chromed fender skirts on a not-lowered car, with Supreme wheels and raised white letter tires. Those 3 things should never exist on a car at the same time, and none of the 3 work well on a chopped 50's car, either. Individually, they all have their place, it's just such an odd combo.

If the owner loves it, great, my opinion shouldn't really matter. But I personally can't get past that.

    Let me decide for you.

  15. I think you nailed it. I never realized the car had chrome fender skirts, and the supreme wheels. (I was too bust looking at the chop). I came from the era of shackles, slotted or cragar mag's. (still there by the way). The chop part is nicely done and acceptable, but the other parts are what gave me pause I suppose. As you said... if the owners happy with it, who am I do complain. (I would venture a lot of others hate my shackled up Chevy, but, so be it).

If loving shackled cars is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

I am an unrepentant child of the 70’s. lol

    I have a chopped 55. IMHO the 57 above is a victim of "era mixing" kinda too bad... astorian.jpg astorian2.JPG astorian5555.jpg astorian55555.jpg astorianccr2.jpg astorianchadly2.jpg

^^^^^ Exactly. Like anything that requires multiple layers of completion no matter what it is, dressing, home building, make up and hair, you get the idea. Just because a single thing is cool does not alway’s make it a hit.

Old school build 1976. She said she was tired of the drag strip life and wanted to go back to a street car so i repainted her.
