Features tri five chevys lets see em"

A friend of mine gave me this picture today. My 55 this past summer at Sanford Airport (used as Dragstrip till 1966) in front of the replicated timing tower.

 

I posted this one on here when I got it, making a little progress on it. I really don't want to paint the car right now but the right front fender was dark green and off anouther car. So... a little "touch up" and presto, one aged rusty fender. What's under the hood should detract most people's eyes off the fender...

 

Looks like original equipment to me good job!

The paint blending on that fender turned out perfect, that's impressive. What did you use to get the rust colored brown on top? That car is really one of those cars that shouldn't get repainted, the old aged paint looks so good, especially in person.

The white one was my first 55 when I was 13 the rest I have owned in the last 8 years or so for a year or two each, the yellow one is my current rag

 

Man, why would you cut up a '55 Nomad? Those are awesome. They're rare too, right?

Shirt was made at the Cow Palace in San Fransisco CA in 68

 

coulda been Reinero or "Wild Bill" Copeland,I still have one from both of them I think...........Damn I miss good airbrush guys at events and havin whatever my current ride is on a shirt .......

 

Here are my two 55 Chevys. The white 55 is an old D/MP drag car that ran at LACR in Palmdale, CA in the 70s. The car was sponsored by Joe's Chevron in Palmdale. It had an Ed Pink SBC, 4speed, and Olds rear. Still original paint and hand painted lettering. Previous owner took out the Ed Pink SBC. I replaced it with a milder SBC.

The satin black 55 is a 150 Business Man's coupe with a 468 BBC, fenderwell headers, BW 4speed, 9-inch rear, and 12" slicks.

My college car in the mid '60s to 1973:


a nice car, hated to get rid of it, but married with a kid in winter '73, I needed a washer and dryer more than I needed that car. ...and I still had to take a loan for the W&D, no market for the '57 then. I think I got $200, maybe 400. ...good 327, Mallory, Duntov, AFB, etc., Sun tach, T10 4 speed with Hurst, very nice re-done original fabric interior, heavy (tall) springs, new grill bar, no dents, essentially rust free, but dead blue-green 8yo paint.

I'm a newbie here & just catching up on all this

This is my 57. Now almost finished after 6 years.

 

Here's a pic or two of my 55. It's my daily for now till I get my 67 runnin then the 55 is being torn down and rotisserie'd and at the risk of being shunned. I may chop it while i'm at it.
