Man, I sure have changed!
Remember the days when it had to be a BelAir with all the shiny trim, had to be a hardtop, fancy wheels, etc. anymore, it's the 150 and 210 tri-five sedans that ring my chimes.

I've always been a '55 Delray owner having had four including my current '55. But that black '56 150 is perfect, the only '56 model that says hot rod. Love it!!!!!

Many lower models fell under the ''Bel Air spell'' and were festooned with the extra trim. One of my pals has a 2 door hardtop. While we had it apart, we discovered it's actually a rare 210 Sport Coupe. Pushing hard to change it back.

 

Can't believe it didn't get busted for the OT Ralley in the background...

If you look close at photos of 60's drag racing you'll spot quite a few 57 210 hardtops.
Many years ago I worked with a guy who's son had a 57 sedan delivery that he was working on and as you know these are the 150 model which came from the factory with basic trim.
He had been telling me about how it had been in the body shop for quite a while and after it was painted invited me to come look at it, when he opened the garage door I couldn't believe my eyes, he had completely changed it over to BelAir trim and in my eyes this is total blasphemy.
I'm sure he wasn't the first to do this but because I have always had a soft spot for 57 Chevy 150 wagons and sedans especially because of their simple lines and trim I felt quite let down.
Oh, by the way, it also was painted the absolute brightest yellow I've ever seen, yuck!
Ok, I need to wash that vision out of my mind with this.

 

10-4! SD's are a little easier to spot because 210/BA side trim doesn't belong.
