Thanks TCTND. I think you are right and hopefully we got it fixed. Its running pretty good right now. As you can see from the pics it has one of those 20 foot paint jobs. But gonna love fixing her back up.
Hook up a timing light and stick it under a windshield wiper where you can see it...if the light quits flashing when the car dies you know it's electrical....
You can also do it with a Tacho! The needle will flicker with electrical gremlins. That 57 is screaming out for one of these "on the column" https://www.mooneyesusa.com/MOONEYES-Half-sweep-Tach-p/mpg5000tm.htm
Those Moon Eye's Tachometers, they look really nice, but I've "heard", they don't last. I've never had one, maybe someone who has could comment on that? Very similar to the 270 degree sweep, black and white Sun Tachs, like I have in my 56 Delivery. I'll replace it one day with my Sun Super Tach, or my NOS/in the original box Equus, Pro Series Tach that looks IDENTICAL to the Super Tach, except for the name and manufacturer. I guess Equus is still around, just not making tachometers anymore (???). Dixco Tachs were also virtual copies of Sun Tachs. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
