Hi. Need some help on trying to find a tripower air cleaner that will fit my tri-power set up for my 1957 Buick Estate Wagon 364. It is an Offenhauser manifold with 3 Rochester 2G carbs. Ideally, I'd like to find one with an aluminum ribbed top and a non-punched? bottom so I can fit it to the carb set up. I read somewhere that there is a Ford air cleaner for tripower like that, but haven't been able to find anything. Any help would be great!
Does it have to be a single air cleaner that covers all three carburetors? An early Pontiac tripower air cleaner may work but that's just a guess, and they are pretty rare (and expensive) these days anyway. Three small individual air cleaners will be a lot easier and cheaper to find.

Get the Summit and make new bottom oval with 3 holes using a hole saw. Cut out the original with a jig saw. Buy the 1/4” aluminum from Mc Master Carr and pop rivet to the Summit bottom with bottom cut out. Ain’t rocket science. Detroit is a big city, find a restaurant supply company warehouse and look a baking supply’s there all kind of good looking pans and tins... make a bottom. K-N makes filters for 406 and 427 Fords you push into any shape. On your bottom plate you can pop rivet aluminum angle from Home Depot or Lowe’s to make the element to stay where you want...
This is the "short" version of the O'Brien a/c above. You drill the plate for the studs, use small round aircleaners (I guess) then put the plate on and bolt the finned cover to it. It didn't work out for me and I think it's too short for your set up. But if you made your own base, etc. maybe it would work. Fit your taste? Up to you.
These are O'Brien's for a SBC that I stole from the web. Should work for you I would think. If you like. Jim

It would be nice to find an air cleaner assembly for an aftermarket tri-power manifold that took a big oval air cleaner element. If you have a nice oval top that will only fit the little air cleaner elements, what good is it anyway?
This would work if you could afford it or found one. For dual quads mandated in NASCAR in 1956. All manufacturers had them with slight differences. A good fab shop with a roller, flare metal expander, and a tig to weld a top on could easily do it and be under the cost of finding an original.

I always like the home-engineered stuff, unique, and one-of-a-kind. If it was for an Olds it would be "Rocket Science"
These air cleaners are some of the nicest looking and they are suppose to flow like crazy.. I made one using Fat Daddy-o cake pans.. They are well made..
I just got this bottom to fab to my tri power Blank Bottom for Oval Air Cleaner (cobranda.com) and the cobra lid that I had Cut up 3 air cleaners that fit the large base carbs.. off of OT 70's cars Now to mate the flat base to the rest.. And you can get a plain finned top.

This is great! Just the info I've been looking for and the way to do it with the 3 carb bases cut up is brilliant! Beats the heck out of trying to fab those dang holes and roll the edges etc. With the blank base plate and this info, it will turn out great!
