Just got home from the big tristate swap in Denver. Was looking for early Ford parts and there was not shit. Muscle car, drag race and just plain shit. Only thing worth while was meeting up with some Colorado hot rod friends and time spent with my son Brooks(green blade here on the H.A.M.B.) got a few little things but definitely not worth driving down there and spending two nights.
That's interesting as hotrodA said similar in his post re the Nashville swap meet . He did post pics of some nice stuff so it wasn't completely devoid of good stuff. If you guys in the US are having trouble finding HAMB friendly car parts how do you think us guys here in Australia are doing ?
i was at the street rod nationals in pueblo in june 21, and i too was surprised the lack of older ford stuff there. i expected there to be some pristine sheetmetal parts there and hardly any at all.
With the tri state swap meet, most of the bargains are found on Friday which is setup day. In the 20 years that I attended, I did get some deals but the amount of old Ford stuff has dwindled to the point where you see a lot of the same stuff from year to year.
@WiredSpider is spot on. I moved in as a vendor on Friday at noon, and there was alot of stuff leaving the building Friday afternoon. People can get in on Friday without paying entry fee, or need to pay for parking. Crowd was big on Saturday morning, but not alot of buyers. I sold enough to make it worth my time, but there were also alot of empty swap spaces. Also a few "non-automotive" related vendors which was a waste IMO. Enjoyed meeting people I hadn't seen for awhile. And yes, limited early Ford parts if that's what you were looking for.
Well that sucks ... I figured either some vendor got caught with a ton of stolen parts or you had pictures of ( . )( . )
It much there for old iron. I had mostly Mopar parts with some old Hemi stuff. Did ok but not great, sold maybe a quarter of what I had. More shocked at all of the no shows, lots of empty spaces.
