What is going on Hambers, I have a question y'all might be able to help me out with. I'm building a 1930 Model A 4 door. I would like to know if anyone has faced any problems using a triangulated 4 link with a transverse spring in the rear. I'm using a og model a frame , boxed with a kicked back rear cross-member 9one that goes behind the rear housing). I'm using a 9 inch rear end. The 4 link bars came with the car (not installed yet) and I would like to use them, I don't really want to use coil overs either because the front end is a 3 inch drop axle with a front transverse leaf spring (I want the front and back to look the same). I'm new at this so any help, ideas, pictures, will help greatly. Thanks everyone.
If the bars have joints at both ends, you cannot use just the bottom two. The top of your axle would swing forward and back. Many cars have been built with a four-bar rear and a cross spring. Probably even a bunch with a triangulated four-bar.
If the back is to match the front , what's up front as far as control? Bones, radius rods, 4 bar ? I'm more than reasonably certain the triangulated 4 link and transverse spring can be pulled off with some planing, however they usually aren't seen together. It could tend to get kinda busy without planning or just trying to use what you have.
Yea I just bought some ladder bars instead... But now I have a triangulated 4 link set up for sale. Hahaha Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
