After selling my last Vicky and missing it ever since I decided to pursue another one. The last one admittedly was more radical than I would’ve liked and probably would have sold it after I finished it anyway. I love race cars and I love to build radical cars, but honestly they are only so fun to drive.

this new one will ultimately be full fendered but for now it is stock height with a late 50’s early 60’s vibe. I’m going for something straddling show/cruiser and street racer. Just getting started so we’ll see where it ends up. The only goal is fun to drive and something I can enjoy daily.

    Specs:
sbc-Cragar 3-71, tkx 5 speed, ford 9”, halibrands, Buick drums……not sure from there, stay tuned!!

Not so exciting but since the floor is stock, beautifully shapely and rust free I had to modify the X member to get the body on the chassis.

I almost bought one once. I wanted the Vicky, my buddy wanted the roadster, we worked out a deal with the seller but he caught the of us talking about hot rodding them and he backed out, he wouldn't let us do that to those cars.

Got the motor dropped in to check some things…the 5 groove crank pulley says that I’m going to need to recess the firewall or put a flat firewall in the car. The early 32 firewall is too nice to cut on! She’s tiiiight.

I’m also pondering switching it up to hair pins instead of the split/not split bones……thoughts??

That thing is bitchn'. Can you live with the 3 groove that is on there, looks like it fits.

On the crank pulley the first 3 grooves are the blower drive and the closest to the bock two are for the generator and other accessories. Unfortunately the snout and upper pulley determined that for me, I’d love to be able to snug things up a bit more but this is what I’ve got.

I’ve also got to find a way to get a fan in there, electric unfortunately.

Get your pulley arrangement up set in stone, find the actual fan you are going to use, then hack the firewall accordingly. You won't be the only fella to ever cut a nice cherry '32 firewall and once you make the first cut, you start to feel better.

I went with a flat firewall instead of cutting up the cherry original. I moved the motor back within about 1/2” of the firewall and locked it and the trans mount where I want em’. There is enough room for the electric fan and it looks like I might be able to run a hood top with the right air cleaner.

I also ditched the 47 front bones for a set of polished hairpins, I feel like it is a much spiffier look!!!

I got the steering box where it will live, the pan hard bar mounted and the front shock/headlight mounts made, also rear shocks mounted. I got the brake line tabs welded up and started plumbing the chassis. I’ll probably bust it apart next week and drop it off for powder coat!!

Vicky's are a cool thing, I love your start & direction you are going.

Most people wouldn't consider a blown small block a daily combination, I love that in your mind that's pegged back enough to fulfill those duties! :D

I wish you lived in my neighborhood. Will follow along!

I got the chassis bits back from powder coat a few weeks ago and haven’t had a lot of time but the adult size model is going together nicely!!
……should have the body touching down any day now.

Unfortunately shiny paint for the body isn’t in the budget right now. I just want to get it on the road and fancy paint on the body will have to wait.

    It’s been awhile…..

Well the body came off again. I had to cut out the floor and install a flat floor because the diff was hitting the floor.
Since the body is off I had a friend convince me to at least do some quick body work and get the car in colored primer for now, and also shiny paint some of the bits.(I won’t reveal the color until the body is back on the chassis)

since I have access again I built a quick and easy side pipe for breaking in the motor. I will do out the back under the car exhaust after I get the car on the road.

I also did the top wood and built the seat riser with some little skirt doohickeys for appearance sake.

That shiny engine against the white firewall is boner-city.

    Nice work, -Abone.
