In our dirt track roundy round racing years.....whites were mandated simply as a visibility issue when racing at night....which is when most tracks operated on the weekends. I was in all white back in the early 70's racing and still had a guy screaming into the pit area after a less than successful heat race drive right over my foot and ankle.....those were the days !
