Not sure where this should be posted. We will be in Port Douglas, Australia the months of December. 2016 and January, 2017. Then in New Zealand February, 2017. Any tips on car stuff we can see or do? Thanks, John
http://www.nz-hotrod.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?3-Hot-Rod-Events February is a good time for car shows. Just remember to bring sun block.
Port Douglas is a long way from the nearest civilisation (Cairns) and over 1,000 miles from the State Capital Brisbane. Not too much up there Hot Rod wise.
So where in NZ do plan to be in Feb. Not purely HAMB friendly but the pre 49 nats are in the very scenic Volcanic Taupo lake area 17th to 19th February, but well worth a visit. NZ being so small the NZ Hot Rod organisation has screwed up really and about 3hrs from Taupo the Scenic city club in New Plymouth has their 50th anniversary on the exact same weekend also which promises to a great event right by a snow capped extinct volcano on the beautiful west coast surf beaches . Also one week later in New Plymouth is Americarna which is a cruising culture weekend touring the sights the area has to offer. Not huge but definitely a fun event. Keep us posted as to your plans.
If you could make it down to Melbourne the last weekend in January the River City Coupe and Roadster club have their reliability run on from Friday night through to Sunday lunchtime and the Melbourne Hot Rod Show is on in the Exhibition Building over that weekend.
