Was going through this cool little site www.35pickup.com and came across this picture.

Thats a triple downdraft Weber carb which in itself is an unusual and rare piece.

What got me was the Weber carb has Stromberg/Holly three stud mountings with the exact spacing of a Flathead three carb manifold!

Is this just a freaky coincidence or did Weber tool up for these things?

Cool. Different flathead three carb manifolds have different spacing, though.

  3. Look real close.that intake has been modified to fit the carb.......I believe you are looking at my friend Rus Daley's Model A.............That is just one of many intakes he likes to run on that car.!!

  4. By the way , that cool little site link is not working.........

Here it is from the other side. I tried to get a picture of the intake. I believe it is a custom application. He did a hell of a job making it look factory.

Here is the whole car. The whole car was full of mind boggling unusual details. Some of the New England guys probably know more about it.

Thanks for that Tommy. I didn't realise it was from THAT car.

I can see now that it has typical Weber dual stud mounts round each choke and as mentioned is from a 911.

    Still, very clever.

  11. Well I guess I qualify as a New England HAMBer.

Yes that is Russ' car, yes it's a Porsche carb, yes it's a heavily modified kustom manifold.

As usual, the knowledge of the HAMB community comes thru!

Russ has owned the car since 1964, thats about the 3 or 4th differant induction sys. hes had on the car.He was riunning a Scot blower for awhile & i believe when he got the car it had Strombergs on it.
The car does have alot of nice details, like the Home made Duvall style windshield that is actually 2 differant hinged piece. You can open either side!! Nice feature.
He does put some miles on the cr,I see him driving around Rhode Island all the time.Nice guy
