Hello. Are there any who have tried to mount a 250 "with 3 double Weber in a 1950 Fleetline?[IMG]

Put a 250 w/a 4bbl in a 48 Fleetline. Not quite the same, but dont know how different.

Not a common combination. All that you can do is find out how much the package extends from the side of the head and check to see what is in the way.

Hi. The 250 being a bit longer than my 235 I put in my Style master 46 coupe the 250 should cause you a bid of difficulty with the firewall but that is really not that major. Should the radiator have fan clearance issues the radiator fits down in that frame mount support carrier & radiator bolts inside the rear side of that carrier. If the radiator need moving forward unbolt it from inside rear of that carrier & move radiator forward and bolt to either inside front of that carrier or you may need to make spacers for the amount you move forward to bolt it back to inside rear of carrier again. This moving of radiator may cause you clearance problems with the cover in front of radiator that the hood latch is mounted on but you can trim the back side for clearance without ruining appearance. I wonder depending on how much you need for firewall clearance if you could just use a spacer between tranny & engine??? But that still would not give you enough for 3 Weber's on one side I think.

My avatar here shows my 235 with 2 weber 2 barrel's on a Clifford intake and it shows that there is not much room remaining and this engine is a bit shorter than the 250. I Do not think I would have room for a 3 weber set up but my car is not here for me to measure and see how much room remains There is not much room front or back of the two carbs. Without actually measuring my thought on how to make it possible to use a 3 weber set up might be to mount weber's on front & rear of the manifold and adapt a cross ram adapter on intake and put center carb on other side if possible. That would give more clearance for air cleaners. For my 2 carb set up I bought the offset adapters for air cleaner mounts to move them farther apart as those 6.75" Orbit cleaners from Speedway would not fit without them. You might have enough clearance for 3 if you use the tiny air cleaners but I wanted better filters.

I could be wrong but personally I think 3 weber's would be too much for a non race hwy. cruiser on my 235 even with the cam and 0.060 over. Also that is what Clifford told me a few years ago when I was talking him about which set up to purchase from him for my 235.

I really like the set up I have for daily driving. My Engine is 0.060 over with flat top pistons, Clifford 268 grind cam, headers & HEI by Langdon. We are now just doing the finishing touches on the install of a T350 3 speed and 57 Chevy pickup rear end with a 307 ratio. Note I am building for a Hwy cruiser & it will never race. My guys did a test drive on it Thursday just to see if there were any issues and said it ran thru the gears very well. Should be back on the road sometime next week unless something else pops up.
    Good luck
