Boxing day here,, still no book.
claimed they posted the last of the pre-orders 22nd November.
generally US small parcels take 5-10 working days to me..god Knows why TRJ cant manage that time frame.

Got mine here in NZ a couple of days before christmas. There are a lot of 32's in the book!

I ordered back in the pre-order phase. It's a busy time for the shipping industry I guess. I checked the box just now and it was shipped "Intl Surface Air Lift" whatever that means.

  5. Yeah well, get this...in the time since they told me mine was shipped (email Dec 13) I have bid on and won 2 auctions on US ebay (one was a book!) - I have paid for both and both arrived a week before Christmas, in the mail.

What mail service TRJ uses baffles me, can't be USPS.

Yeh I will be interested to see the date stamps, and what service was used when (if?) it gets here.. in the email they sent, said 6-8 weeks!! WTF? its not outer mongolia... I could have ordered a copy off ebay two weeks ago and had it here easy by now. If they spent as much time and effort in the shipping department as they do sending me a barrage of christmas gift emails Id be a happier customer.

  7. well i ordered mine on the thirteenth of april and it arrived this morning numbered 152, i will enjoy staring to read it tonight.

No.0095 arrived today. Package has a label saying INTL SURFACE AIR LIFT but no date or postmark.
The book is definitely worth the wait.

  17. I ordered some stuff from a reputable and VERY well known US speed shop and am yet to receive anything.
When did I order you ask?
    Just over TWO YEARS ago.

I'm not sure when I ordered mine but it just arrived last week. Worth the wait by the way.

in an email from TRJ today they said I should have mine any day now BUT, it could take until the end of the month for it to arrive.
WOW, is all I can say.
they know I don't have mine, so if they dropped one in the mail today I could have it by Saturday, next Monday at the latest. how is it possible for it to take 2+ more weeks?

remember, I was told by TRJ that my book was shipped to me on Nov 22 and its still not here.

    sorry had to vent.

  21. That shits me because I wanted it for Christmas too. Having said that, there is NO WAY items mailed on Nov 22 take any more than a week much less months. It's mid January now and I've seen nothing. Yes I've emailed them and they say it was sent by Nov 22. Possibly on a slug with a sore foot.

I'm pretty sure this is the last thing I will ever order from them. Their service over the years has never been less than pathetic. Good product, pathetic service.

p.s. I am happy you actually got yours Cory.

I checked the postage label of mine and it said Surface Post..... I'm not sure if this is Surface all the way ie. Truck, Boat, Truck or if there is a Plane involved to cover the section across the Ditch. Maybe the Postie amongst us can answer this.

As for the question of worth the wait.... Yep it sure was. It is a Quality Book. The binding is spot on, no overlap or cut of any pictures that are spread over two pages. Sure, there are some cars which had me scratching my head as to how they made the Top 75, but hey, all our tastes are different. I give it a 10/10 for Book Quality and an 8.5/10 for content.

well if it makes you feel any better Tony, I bought a copy for the old man too, and it was planned as a fathers day present, well that deadline came and went, then it was for his birthday well you can guess what happened there.

Then Waye emailed me to say that they had posted it (he ordered a bulk lot.) the email was on the Tuesday before xmas, well he got them on the next day!!!

I was happy, but of course by then we had all but sorted out and xmas present for the old man too!

I'm sure its worth the wait, and I seem to be waiting longer. I got hold of one of these , so I have a few other books in front of it, including the river rouge book. but its not going anywhere. mine is #455. good olds number that.

Well, I haven't ordered the book so it doesn't concern me. But I do buy and have subscribed to TRJ.

You guys are talking about postage service and surface mail vs airmail and so on. It's all frog shit. As far as I know there is no longer surface mail between Australia and the US. Everything travels by air.

In the four years it took me to build my hot rod nothing took longer than 2 weeks to arrive from the US using the US postal service...much of it was under a week. Well there was one thing but we don't say 'North West Speed' around here anymore.

My dealings with TRJ show that customer service is virtually non existent. I tried to enquire about issue 45 of TRJ which universally self destructed. I tried via PM on the HAMB, I tried emails, nothing worked. In fact it was Ryan who eventually offered me a spare copy he had to make it right. I didn't accept (thanks Ryan). Still haven't had a reply from TRJ.

Steve Coonan needs to kick some serious butt to sort out these people who are making an otherwise fantastic product into a very mediocre business.

  25. I got the River Rouge book book, it's good, but play spot the errors.

To the best of my knowledge surface mail stopped years ago, it's all air now. Maybe they came up with some other wierdo budget arrangement with middle men that's not so good for customers (the poor saps waiting for their goods.)

  26. Thanks for the answer and for adding there are 'a few' you scratched your head over, as i was wondering if it was going to be more than a few. 8.5 sounds like a buyer, I will have to order one.

Anyone else order the Rex burnett art booklet???
These were meant to start shipping on the 13th on Dec!!!!!!!

    geez fly,

I had forgotten about that one! Yep another to wait for...

  28. Well, it arrived. Haven't opened it yet as right now it represents being pissed off so I'm not in the mood. I'm sure when I do open it I'll be in the frame of mind to enjoy it.

Mail sticker on the fron of the box says: INTL SURFACE AIR LIFT U.S. POSTAGE PAID SAN FRANSISCO.

But it looked like there was something under it so I peeled it back to reveal another sticker:
Airmail New Zealand No. 201557 Direct
If unclaimed please return to Vistapost PO Box 91945, AISMC, Auckland.

    Mmmmm, that's odd. WTF?
