Event Coverage ***TROG Flabob Airport, Riverside***

How many HAMBers are going to the TROG races in Riverside? Starts tomorrow, continues Saturday. I didn't get registered in time, but was told to come anyways(which I was) and maybe I can race.

I missed the one in Santa Barbara. I'm NOT missing this one...And, i'll do my best to stay out of trouble, lol.

 

A group of 7 or 8 of us are going...both days & nights. Should be fun!

I think they have hot rod spectator parking as well. I’ve seen video of at least a dozen hamb guys rolling in already. Really looking forward to catching the coverage this weekend

 

I saw some guys rolling in on IG, and doing some test runs. It should be a great event. I hope I can make at least ONE pass....

Going to head out tomorrow after work but Saturday and Sunday looks like might get some rain

 

I'm planning on going, but not sure what to about Friday, apparently there is no racing on Friday, and the gates don't open until 4 pm. What are people heading out there planning on doing all day? Cruise around Riverside? That'll take up about an hour, then what. I'm in for it, just not sure when I'll head out.

 

There’s cruising, bars, Hang outs and music venues on site. I’m sure you’ll stay busy

Looks like a cool place to hang out; and they've got a cafe onsite, should be good for some lunch before they open the gates to the event.

Gassed up Rusty earlier today. I'll blow off the leaves tomorrow afternoon and be ready to hit the back roads first thing Saturday morning. Rain not predicted until Saturday night.

They picked the venue to purposely build Out and have those things. They are for just the event.

no professional Cameras. funny stuff. I'd like to hear the logic behind that shit way of thinking.

my 1994 "professional Camera'' with a then $500.00 lens and several filters does not take as good of a picture as my "late model" $350.00 phone. Cameras don't take good pictures, people do.

 

I’m in. Looks like rain late Saturday, but there should be plenty of greatness beforehand. I’ll wear a HAMB shirt - say Hi and I’ll buy you a beer or something. Looking forward to my first attendance at a TROG event.

I’d assume since they like the event to look a certain way they don’t want giant super obvious equipment poking out of the scene disrupting the aesthetic. I mean if they are being picky about what clothes you can wear on the beach in jersey I’m sure California is no different

 

When I ran the Ink n Iron car show, Trace said NO professional cameras. That meant, no cameras with removable lenses. He hired people to cover the event, so he didn't want a bunch of stupid stuff representing his show. Whatever that means.

 

Keep your eyes open for the 666 Coupe. I should be near it. Or, look for the ACEScc jackets.

FLABOB has a rich history of great kick ass aviation, and there are hot rodder's there as well. That listed rule of " No Professional Cameras " is going to be pretty hard to interpret or enforce. I have shot a lot of photography at that particular airport over the past years, that community there doesn't have a lot of hard asses that would ever try to enforce that silly rule. The cafe there is small and packs full very quickly. Its a great cafe. I hope that this will be a very successful gathering for TROG at FLABOB.
