This sounds cool, but I still like the idea of a HAMB gathering at the lake, non-sanctioned, "outlaw" style. We used to do these types of camp outs with the gang from work, heading out on a Friday night after work, having a nice bon fire and getting tight, then doing some riding around the lake or through the hills on bikes during the day. Good times. Would also work as a "reliability run".
With trepidation - I have to ask. How are we saving history for the future by running traditional steel on the salt and in the salt water? Will there be anything left for the next generation to be the custodians of?
You are right. Salt never washes off. That is why there are no cars left that have ever run at Bonneville, or any midwest state.
Reading the article in the March 3017 Hot Rod Deluxe a few minutes ago i'd say that the gents who backed it took a pretty hard financial hit on it.
I talked to the guys at the TROG booth at the GNRS and they said they were looking at doing it again at Pismo in 2018.
If there is a 2018 Trog West I hope they give some preference to the guys who were there in 2016. We deserve it!
Looking at the tide chart for October for Pismo Beach the tides **** in October time wise. http://www.cl***iccalifornia.com/pismo-beach-monthly-tides/#1478290021874-3f9463c2-3e6d Each weekend just about the time you would want to get on the beach it is high tide. No high tides at 5 or 6 in the morning with low tide at around noon.
Well I'll have to get my number to someone Just some fun with an old car, no ********. It''l give me a good reason to get my *** out there and finish the T.
Here is a video I shot of Trog West 2016 if you haven't seen it... I have already posted on the HAMB a little while back. I just thought some of you may have not seen the other post.
Anybody see this event coming up at Bolsa Chica State Beach in So Cal? https://www.motobeachcl***ic.com/ Not traditional hot rod oriented, but if these guys can do it on a So Cal beach, why not TROG?
