Hot Rods Trojan t at auburn's rm auction today

Hitting the show circuit in 1961, this 1916 Ford Model T was a show stopper in it's day, winning several awards. I saw it a couple years ago at the Detroit Autorama in this fairly fresh restoration to it's 1961 version.
Nice to see it out in the daylight. I didn't see what it bid to though.

Nice looking T. I personally don't care for the looks from the back, but other than that, I like it.

 

This remind's me of a 1/8th scale Lindberg model kit... The only things different is the soft top and the motor.. The front fenders are the same as the model kit and the back end is very close.. The motor used in the kit is a Y-block Ford instead of a Nailhead Buick..

 

You are quite right about the 1/8 Lindberg kits, I have several of those and even the dash is a dead ringer for this car. It was obviously designed using the Trojan T as the basis for the kit. This kit also comes with several different parts for many different build styles.

 

I know the hubcaps on this car are to make it as it first appeared on the show circuit, but I would love to see it with chrome steelies or even M/T Radirs!
