    Dielectric grease is non conductive IMO I wouldn’t use at the electrical connection itself between the metal parts that conduct. It can be used on the connection after everything is tightened. A coating of regular grease on the outside will work just as well.

    Grounds can be interesting; had one of our suppliers go from wet to powder paint. Suddenly had ground problems, they bolted the ground cables and wires down to the now powder coat finish; easy fix, grind the power coat off, good grounds again. Supplier paid warranty and decided the fix was a stud welded to the frame to connect the grounds; guess what, a powder coated stud doesn't make a good ground either.

    I know your issue was ground but a different "run great than no click" issue I had was a loose connection on the neutral safety switch. Was still attached but could wiggle it and make a connection.
