Now that I have your attention, I have '48 Ford car spindles. I cut off the orginal steering arms and used bolt on steering arms from Ch***is Engineering. (Very nice items! Better than heating and bending the orginals). Anyway, There is no way that the grease ******s will fit now. What are you guys doing? Grease well when you install your king pins and thats it till a major service? If thats the case, I will have to put plugs in the grease ****** holes.
I don't know why you can't use a fitting, hopefully you have tried a 45 degree type or some other solution, but I do know if you don't keep the pins greased well it gets hard to steer, quickly (don't ask) and you have trouble keeping it on the road after you hit a bump.
I see where you are from...................no wonder your ******s are giving you problems. You need to move south, man!! Now back to the issue at hand, what are you doing? Flipping your spindles? I've thought about that on my '53. Let me know how it works. JayD
