Technical Trough out bearing spring 1950 Mercury

I have a 1930 Ford coupe with a 1950 Mercury Flat Head with a 1968 4-speed Ford top-loader transmission. I am in need of a through-out bearing return spring, purchase one but does not seem to be correct. Any information or help would be appreciated!

More information needed. What adapter are you using and how did you set up your Clutch linkage? Are you still using the Merc style (early Ford) shaft in the adapter to the bearing. Post a photo of the spring you are trying to use.
