We keep cranking them out. This one is a brand new 1947-1953 Chevy truck cab from Dynacorn. Everything on this one is new. Not traditional by any means but I thought some of you might like to see the quality of the products before you buy them for your own project. I belive Dynacorn was the supplier for Southern but this is thier own deal. 383 Fast Burn SBC/TH 400/Gear Vendor/Dana 60!
where can i find that cover for above the rear bumper and below the bed. I have been debating on getting a roll pan or one of those. please PM if you know
I think you can get it directly from Dynacorn or one of their many suppliers. www.dreamcarrestoration.com is doing the paint and wiring on this truck for them. They are dealers and can supply it for you. Also Chevs of the 40's is advertising them.

I am still really surprised that the '47-53 Chevy truck was a subject for manufacture of a new body. '67-68 Mustang fastback - I get '69 Camaro coupe and vert - I get '57 Chevy - I definitely get I'd think the '53-56 Ford would find more buyers. :shrug: Besides.. can't you find those old Chevy trucks being given away by Old Navy? Your buildup looks great man!
Given what the$e go for, yeah I'm a bit suprised too but the audience for these trucks is VERY large. Maybe not as big as the F100 crowd but still big. All I know is that it was damned nice not having to fix rust and clean dirt out. They are coming out with a big window 55-59 cab and I assume parts for it as well to be shown at SEMA. I saw the cab there last year.
Just curious.. what does a full body go for? Bed, fenders, etc? Is most of the sheetmetal fitted before you get it?
I was qoted $8900 just for the cab and doors. And there is nothing else, no trim, window mechinisms, door latches nothing. I would guess that you are north of $15K just for the sheemetal.
Chevs Of The 40s advertises the 5-window cab with doors for $9995.00. My last lottery ticket was off by only 6 numbers...
I remember reading in Hot Rod Dynacorn has the Camaro sheetmetal stamped in China, is the same true of the trucks?
yup, Made in Taiwan R.O.C on everything. Thing is the company that is painting this is a dealer for Dynacorn. He said this is the second body (techincaly the third) they have had. The first one made in the US sucked so bad they sent it back for a replacement. This is the first one from ROC and my first experience with them. The cab is really decent.

Did you build the frame? It looks nice. I think these trucks are pretty popular, at least here. I see more of them than F100s. I'd like to see more F100s since I own one, but I doubt I could afford a new one. Doesn't Sacramento Vintage make a 56 cab? Fiberglass I think though.
Yes, we built the frame, suspension and assembled everything. This is my new Dakota based system I have been working on for a year or so. Makeing all the fixtures to build that stuff takes serious time when you still have to make a living.
How is this new Dakota system better / different than the earlier one we have? I'm on dialup and cant see the slide show until later.....
tubular control arms and coil overs. This makes things a bit easier to fit odd applications and it looks cool too.
Glad to see if finally done. You guys out in HAMB land did not get too see what this crew started off with, just big pile of new metal pipe and square tubing the frame was a work of art. One things, I didn't realize till now is how pretty Keldog, Caveman and G-man look as models. What bunch of pretty boys.
