  1. Updates? Or are you buried in snow?

  2. I wish I had up dates here.
Got the brake pedal mount figured but not in. Been playing with deck lid hinges but no significant progress there either.

  3. Hello my name is Lowcoe and I'm addicted to build threads......

  4. Man oh man we need some up dates here. What's coming next it the decklid sub structure and hinges. Almost done there.

& I've about Given up on finding a nice 36 truck windshield frame- so Ill be making my own from stainless. I have some ideas, some sketches, and I bet I get plan real soon. :)

  8. Whipped up some braces for the truck verticals.
14 gauge with some speed holes the will probably not be seen again

Here's how I did the trunk gutters. I had to make everything obviously.
The deck lid opening was formed, then cut in and butt welded to the body panels.
That was the first turn into the rain gutter with a true opening.
The rain gutters themselves were formed by 3 step process, break for the first beds, shrinker for the curve, then into a hammer form to close up the U profile on the curve.
The gutters were attached to the leg that forms the opening.
Then I made the deck lid skin.
The frame work for the deck lid is from 1"x1" tube that went into the HF roll bender.
It was rolled to follow the templates, since it's not a consistent curve following a radius but more of an ellipse section, that was pretty tricky. The hinge mounts also go here.
To weld to the frame work is a 90* bend 16 ga that goes into the rain gutter and creates the other side of the seal.
Then the deck lid will sit over the frame, over the 16ga piece and plug weld to it in the channel.

That's a whole lotta stuff just to get the trunk opening acting like it should, and it's really hard to photograph. Speedways universal trunk hinges worked well after some easy bending. Welding trunks shut has gained some merit :D

A little over 1 year ago I made most of these parts, post 121 them all spread out. They finally got to their home :)

Here you can see on each of the 4 corners are 2 bolts to hold a consistent gap while this was going together.

The decklid skin needs some more crown rolled into it.
I also got a bit done on the floor, nothing exciting but there was one joint I needed to clamp with no conventional way to do it. Royal pita but it's done now.

I seem to miss a lot of threads these days, used to get email notifications but they seem to have stopped coming, don't know why ?
Unless it pops up when browsing threads get missed these days.

Go to the top of the page and click UNWATCH. When the pop up says you are now unwatched now click the watch thread button again and when the pop up asks make sure you click the "email notification" button.

Yes it did !!! It appears that although you subscribe to threads you don't get email notification automatically these days as you did before.
Bugger that means I have to go find all the threads again and do it all again !!!

    Sooooo! What's the results.

  26. Well the voting was just slightly higher percentage for louvers.
I'll weld the roof panel in
I think - then make a 2 swappable insert panels.
One with louvers, and one vinyl.

Working on some dies to pound out the rear window opening

I rarely comment on threads because I have nothing useful to add since the skill levels are wwwaaayyy beyond mine, but this has to be the most informational thread I have read on here. No offense to others, but damn. I wish I had a tenth of knowledge you do.
