Truck or wife ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chopped26, Apr 7, 2007.

  1. Deuce...are either of those actually available?

  2. HAVE HER OR YOUR NEXT GIRLFRIEND DRIVE IT TO THE HOUSE..
STILL NOT CONVINCED...GET THE TRUCK AND PLANT SOME FLOWERS IN THE BOX .. STILL NOT....
ASK HER TO MARRY YOU ALL OVER AGAIN WHILE SITTIN IN THE NEW TRUCK .. STILL NOT ...
ASK WHAT SHED TAKE WITH IF SHE LEFT YA...CALL HER BLUFF
    hmmmmm
IF YOUR WERE CLEVER ENUF TO STAY MARRIED SO FAR YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION

ITS A TEST LIKE " HONEY DOES MY ASS LOOK BIG? "
GET THE ANSWER RIGHT AND YOU WIN
    HAHAHAHA

  3. She is hot and all, but Uhm I'd still take the truck. With bitch'n rides cum bitch'n women and I don't mean the kind who nag your ass all the time. If I were divorced I would probably revert to my old ways, a new woman every week or so. :) Good luck bro, If you are getting that truck for $500 you are a lucky dood. But I guess thats neither the truck or the wife? lol :p

Its no wonder you guys have so much girl trouble. I've been married 41 years and would never do anything she didn't approve of . Of course she knows I never have more than one project at a time and I never use household money on my cars. In return I get every penny of overtime , parts sales ,moonlight ,scrounging dollar I can find.
By the way my neighbor ,who spent a lot of time hunting ,fishing and whoreing around just caught his wife bangin someone else. He told me he just didn't understand her, why she wasn't happy.
My advice is take the $490 and fix the stuff you have setting around.Spend the rest on flowers.

  6. To tell the truth, that's the way we do it too. Forty years and counting. Wife was only 17 when we married, and my parents said we didn't have a chance of making it.

  7. JOECOOL and zman said it. Commit to what you have, buy the truck & flip it, take care of a couple of little thing around the house she wants done (and you know she has a list) and you'll be her hero. Then you can take the extra cash and put it into one of your ongoing projects.

Otis Redding said it best, "Try a little tenderness..."

I showed this thread to my wife and she asked me to find out where the truck is.

  10. ...you know the truck is worth more than the price you can get it for...tell her it's just a good investment, better than money in the bank....you're just investing in your future.

  11. Buy the truck... tell the wife she can borrow it when she moves out.

if you have to ask us...I have to say maybe your marriage has problems to start with...talk to your wife.

  13. A few ???'s:

How bad does the yard look? A few cars/bikes outa' sight in the back, or piled up all over the front yard where a lawn used to be?

Are there kids involved? I'm where I am because of one.

Is the pickup something that'd keep you awake at night? Or is it just a chance to make a good buy on something valuable.

Do you have any projects you'd be less interested in than the truck?

    My $.02:

If I didn't value a relationship above the ability to buy a vehicle, I wouldn't keep the relationship.

If the place looks like some kind of automotive slaughterhouse when you roll up, you might pare the list down to what hides in the back yard.

If kids were involved... well, make the peace stay put. Kids need a dad - look at all the fucked up young people today, and how many single mothers there are.

If you were just being a smartass about dumping the ol' lady, what about telling her you're buying the truck because it runs, and selling something that doesn't for more than enough to pay for it. And maybe taking her out to dinner with a small amount of the proceeds.

And if that don't help ya:

First of all there shouldn't be an ultimatum of a wife or the truck in the first place, if you actually finish a few of the projects. Buy it, flip it, or finish something. After 24 years with my beautiful bride she's learned I make good decisions that pay off. Projects are easy to come by a good wife isn't.

  18. If she pays half the bills in the house ask her for her 250.00, that angle about using it to get rid of some of the other stuff might work though.

Y'all are too cute! I wouldn't even think of trading or losing my wife over any damn vehicle I could ever think of. I have only been married 33.75 years and it was by far the best decision a 23 year old idiot ever made.

That being said, we have common accounts and separate accounts. The common account share paychecks and investments. They pay the bills and plan for retirement. The private accounts are birthday money, small inheritances, money I get doing on-line vet surveys, etc. That's play money and we don't comment on how the other spends it. Of course,if a really great deal came up, I also know my wife would support my insanity, even with her money.

Just my life-good luck with how yours works out. Negotiation always works better than ultimatums.

O.K. ---> to be honest I didn't read the whole thread , it is looong, but what you need is a MEXICAN lady!!! SHE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS GETTIN' WHEN SHE WAS " GETTIN' " IT!!! I have 17 cars in my back yard!!!! ALLl pre '64 stuff and as early as 1923, while she isnt "excited about it, she puts up with it!!!! I am white and love my "FIRME HINA"!!!! Also I see you are in SPOKAN'T also!! Come by and we'll hook up and maybe my 'ole lady will rub off on yours, I'd offer some room but I CAN'T fit another ride in my yard...!!!HONEST!!!!! It is the yard with the 8 Impalas by SCC, ---A N D--- if you ultimately decide not to get the truck, let me know I NEED A TRUCK!!! Would NOT e-bay it, I need a truck to pull my trailer!!! Iwould let you use it and the trailer whenever you wanted!!!!!......Ken

That is an awesome price. If you've got the money and space, I'd say it'd be a mistake to pass it up.

As for the wife, I hope she knew about your habits going into the deal ... and I hope you chose (and will choose) wisely.
