I am building a 52 F1 and would like to keep it as traditional as possible. I'm wanting it to look like a 60's hot rod/cruiser. Since I came around about 10 years later I would like some input on wheel and tire combos that were popular then. I am probably going with steel but not sure whether to go chrome or painted with spiders or hubcaps etc. Pics would be great. Thanks in advance.

  2. Where (in 1962-5) I grew up, it was whitewalls and black painted rims, no caps or chrome rims, no spiders. My .02.
That said, I'm running piners, steelies with trim rings and caps on one and blackwalls, torque thrusts on another.

I'd probably go with steel wheels but I think American Mags (unpolished) look great! I had them on my 1954 ford in 1967.
