Our 48 Chev truck with a 54 grille.

Would be cooler if it sat a bit lower but our roads down here are buggered since the earthquakes, so this is a practical height.

 

Perfect height IMO lowered but still drivable. Nice looking truck.

I have a decent 66 Mercury box if you ever want to make it match the cab.

What engine and tranny does it have?

 

Can't remember if I posted this one or not, taken last fall just before the snow hit...

 

I think I want to clean it up, change the wheels, drop it a bit and sell it. The p.o. rebuilt everything underneath and the head was done. Driver side front fender had some dents removed and one can corner has about a 2" rust hole. The floors are rust free and only some minor dents on the back of the box. Engine is around a 216? Not sure the cid , 3 on the tree. The box is original to it, what does the 66 box look like? I've never seen another one, and it doesn't have the lines of a uni, what do you think it could be worth?

It should be a 223 if it's a 6 cylinder, great engine IMHO.

Some people like to change to this box for the lines to match up.

without seeing it in person I cannot really give a good value, here in Alberta they range from $100 to $2000 based on options and condition, what would you want for it as is?

Thats a rather severe chop, but i really like it. The way you leaned the windshield to use the roof as a visor is real kool.

Thanks for the compliment and thread link. I'm a die hard Chevy guy, traded for the IH. After a little hot rodding I started to like it.

 

Them things are baaaad. Slot mags and skinnies are such a winnin combo in the right car too. This one sure is.

Cool truck. I've always liked the Internationals of the 60s. To me, they look sectioned. How about a little information on this one? Engine and tranny, and most important, how did you lower it? Does it ride good? E

I'll tell you what I know. It has the original 266- 2 barrel, was a 3 on the tree but somebody slipped in a 4 speed at some point. 83,000 original miles.

I built it to use as a truck. Not finished with it yet so never took it down the road.

I flipped the rear axle and c notched the frame, flipped the front axle also. Cherry bomb duals.

I also lettered it last week here are some pics, thanks Jalopy Journal. And special thanks to Bill Appleby for parts and great info.

 

If you can fix it is a miracle... LOL

I used to drive my uncle's binder it had a 4 speed with no 2nd- but that thing would cruise down the hiway-but it rode like a truck

 

Makes me wish for my '53 F100 back...

Nice Truck man!! I had a question.. Is the box a 63 or a 59? I could be wrong but it sure looks like a early Fridge box.. Bottom line super fine ride and what kind of power are you running??

 

They made too many of the 57 58 59 beds so they used them up on the early 60s trucks.they did make a bed that looks like the unibody bed wheel wells allso that I think looks way better than the 64 67 bed wheel wells.

Even SHE can't fit in that - or see out the windshield. If you were to ever actually drive that, you'd be in real danger of running over someone about her size. I prefer real, drivable cars. Just ease it between the trailer and the show grounds and you'll be fine.
