    Hello,

Just to show there is a variation of how people look at some history, here is some information provided by Kustomrama and Customcarchronicle.com. We all see and remember articles from our past history and it is usually written with one point of view. Other points of view will differ, as anyone sees, to fit their needs and ideas. EXAMPLE: The original was "Gas Coupe and Sedan" class at the dragstrips all over the USA. Then it morphed into the dreaded word: "gassers." It is a case of each interest group taking on a characteristic of their own liking.

There are countless articles from the 1950s and 1960s with cars painted Tahitian Red. But, on the other side, people did note there were different versions in different areas of the custom car painting world.

    So, rest in peace...

    LARRY WATSON FROM KUSTOMRAMA:
"...he painted panels on his own car he had already paneled Zeno Stephens' 1955 Mercury. Zeno wanted something different, no scallops or flames, so Larry body paneled it. Larry painted the car in Tahitian Red and striped it in gold. After painting the car Larry never saw it again, not in a magazine, or at a car show, nowhere."

    CUSTOM CAR CHRONICLE:
The First Larry Watson panel Paint-job
"Larry’s very first panel paint job he developed was after he was asked by Renegades member Zeno Stephen’s, who owned a mildly customized pure white 1956 Mercury. To paint his car with something different than flames or scallops. Zeno’s Mercury looked so great already, and Larry really loved the lines on the car, so he came up with the idea to highlight these body lines. He masked off all the body lines, side trim, belt line, door handles, basically all the main body lines that your eyes capture first when you look at a car. He used 1 1/2 inch masking tape to make sure the outlining was even all around. He then pained the the inside panels in GM Tahitian Red. When he had removed the masking tape it looks totally amazing. Larry striped the panels in gold, and Zeno took off, cruising to the Bellflower Clock where everybody was staring at his brand new Larry Watson outline paint job. A new trend was born."

    Yup.

And its become commonplace for English speaking people to confuse the phrase "...waiting on..." and "...waiting for...", using them interchangeably. But some prefer not to dumb down proper grammatical structure. Others - not so much.

upload_2019-5-28_3-26-9.png This is a great example of a beer keg used for a gasoline tank in a full size truck.
upload_2019-5-28_3-26-22.png A similar International pick up truck without the keg.

    Hello,

Beer kegs had plenty of usage for just about everyone. At one time or another, they were only in bars and restaurants. But someone had the great idea of renting full beer kegs to people and that started another whole industry. Home football parties, beer keg parties for just about anything, and every weekend, college parties all go together hand in hand, for better or worse. But, there are/were other uses for empty beer kegs.

The party uses came from the local liquor stores. As teenagers, for some reason, the specific stores would sell 6 packs and cases to older looking teenagers, but not the kegs. But, in college, someone always had a keg or two sitting around the apartment/ house. It was always very hectic installing the handle/pump onto the full keg, especially, if care was not taken during the transporting from store to the numerous apartments.

    Jnaki
Pick up truck beds were very handy for transporting those kegs. (strapped down of course.) But, the empty, cleaned out keg was also used for a spare or external gas tank, complete with a custom flip top filler intake. At first sight, the kegs were an independent idea coming out of various hot rod garages for trucks. Then it morphed into other uses.

    upload_2019-5-28_3-33-36.png
“Beer kegs are made of stainless steel, or less commonly, of aluminium. A keg has a single opening on one end, called a "bung." A tube called a "spear" extends from the opening to the other end.”

“Manufacturers typically make beer kegs out of stainless steel, although aluminum is also occasionally used. Commercial kegs used in bars and restaurants have a metal tube inside the keg that runs from the bottom of the vessel to the valve through which beer is poured.”

“The coupler on a keg connects to the valve, attaching two tubes to the keg. The tubing attached to the coupler typically is made out of vinyl or polyethylene. One of these tubes controls the flow of gas into the keg, while the other controls the flow of beer out of the keg. Bottled carbon dioxide and/or nitrogen connect to the keg with the tubing, pressuring the keg for easy dispensing.”

Then, it got accepted into a T- Bucket item with or without the pickup bed on the back.
