Friend of mine came by the shop with this. Found in a barn near here. Been stored for 40 years. Last tagged in '77. We are going to get it road worthy clean it up and he's going to enjoy it as is. These things are still out there. 20180717_093347.jpeg 20180717_093400.jpeg 20180717_093445_001.jpeg

Wow, think I`d have to leave that bone stock and enjoy putting around back-roads.

Got it running today! tried posting a video but couldn't for some reason. Sounds good. got new hoses on it, water tomorrow, tires will be here tomorrow along with a new fan belt. I am now very familiar with the inner workings of a Model A distributor. lol

Congrats man, looks like quite the find!

  12. Even the back roads have soccer moms doing 70 while texting running up your rear end. No place is safe to putter around anymore.

    GV,
That’s a great write up and hits home with me to a point.

It was 1975 and a local guy who lived on my bus route had a bunch of old Model A’s in his year. So I ride my bike back one day and asked him, go away kid, you bother me. Ask the guy next door if want and old truck.

I ask the guy next door and he has a 1931 AA dump truck. Price, $50.00 but you have to get it running first. I thought to myself, well no kidding, how else would I get it home. Fix the carb, fix the distributor, change the oil. The local Napa store had all the ignition parts in stock except plugs, George, the seller had a new set on the shelf he had since ‘55.

Gas it up and add a battery and off it goes. Thanks for the post and sorry to bomb your post with my old ass story but the “inner workings of a distributor “ kinda tripped a memory. it’s been 43 years, what the hell happened.....
