    Okay, rookie question here ...

What's that t-shaped handle below the rear window for?

I'm sure Doug will add to the tales , this car is something else it really is humbling to be able to work on a piece of history that was so well put together , no bs , nothing it didn't need I didn't even catch the bumper bolts are welded & molded to the bumper till Doug pointed it out today , it is just so subtle. Not low, stock Headlamp bar & white spreader bars !! different but cool. All his dad said to me at the Father's Day show before I got the car was "Don't fuck up my car " I laughed my ass off, what a great guy luckily Doug knows exactly what he has too. Thanks for the comments guys they will appreciate them I'm sure.

    Gosh that car is awesome.

  11. What about all the 50's newspapers stuffed behind the panels? Steve pulled a piece of one out and it was from 1955. That was cool....

Limey your last four words of that post summed it up, "Man I Love It"!

  13. I have yet to open an old book or magazine with anything from Texas in the pages, mostly Calimexico. So I assume that you mean it looks like something that might be driven in Texas now? The California plate does it justice of its heritage.-Weeks

Thanks everyone for all the compliments about the car. The credit goes first to my old man, who built it right the first time in a Glendale driveway when he was a 17 year old high school student. And also to Steve, who resurrected the motor when I was at my wit's end because the rebuilder had not quite lived up to expectations. Actually, the whole staff at Limeworks -- Steve, Carol, Cary, Craig, and Andrew -- deserve recognition. I can't recommend Limeworks enough. All the work is first rate, rates are fair (especially given the quality of the work), and Steve is very good about doing what needs to be done but not messing with things that are already good. Really a first-rate shop for a traditional hot rod.

I only wish I also had the 46 Merc convertible my dad pulled the flathead out of to put in the 32. That would be another good project.

  23. What's not to like? ... a very Bitchin' Deuce 5wd!

I really dig its interior ... it has the same "patina" as the 52 year old upholstery in my coupe:

It's like stepping back in time. Perfect! Reminds me of Hotware's black 5W.

We saw Hotware's coupe in the gazette & saw the similarities , they built simple good looking rides back then , no frills and how it is supposed to be in my opinion. This is the sort of Hot Rod we get our styling clues from, timeless , no silly themes or over accessorized .

Both of these cars nail the look of what people are after in trying to build their own cars. Recreating the past and having a car that tells a story. Both of these are really neat cars.
