Well the title pretty much sums up what this thread is all about. I always like looking at the underpinnings,.. Lets see pictures of your Truly Traditional 1932-1934 (or others if they are real cool and traditional) Ford Chassis that are "Era Specific" and "Period Correct". 1940's to 1960's style.... :D

It's always fun to see how guys with the same basic components can build a traditional chassis, and each one is just a little different.

Or,.. if you have pictures of other peoples chassis that fits this criteria,.. let's see em !

This is coming at a good time because I'm almost done gathering up stuff for my '33 chassis.

    I've got so far...

    '32 Axle
    '33 Wishbone (unsplit)
    '32 Spindles
Backing plates already notched for '32 spindles
    '33 Frame
'46 Columbia Rear with wishbones and brakes
Trans saddle (someone removed the original one)
    '32-'34 Perch Bolts
'36 Rear Shocks (looking for a pair of '33 fronts)

    Yadayadayada....

Perhaps its current caretaker, Deuce Bruce Meyer, has some better pics of the restored chassis ... ???

  21. I love the white and copper chassis, but Neal's work just always blows my mind.

This thread is bringing back some memories.

Texas Speed The rear engined Chrysler powered drag car was from the St Louis area, owned by one of the Mitchel brothers and ran with a T roadster body and a full hood. The 32 grill had a clear insert and hood sides had a small clear window. It was run at Parks field in Ill.around 1956. Not traditional but way cool.

Stephen Fields The Olds powered chassis was built by myself in 1956 as a senior in highschool.
I cut the roof of of my flathead powered 29 A coupe and built a new chassis with a dropped center section, 37 Ply front and rear axles suspended on ford cross springs. The engine was a 303 Olds bored to 330 cu in. Innovation was in in the mid 50s.
