Projects Trunk strike plate location

Does anyone have the measurement for the location of the trunk striker plate on a 41 Mercury Coupe. The strip of metal that the striker plate bolts to was missing when I got the car. I have put in a new support but I don't know the exact location to put the plate/latch catch. The measurement form the lip of the truck to the edge of the plate should work.

 

You may have to spend some time in the trunk to sort it out
