You salt lovers gotta see this!!!!! Turn your sound up!!">" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/playe...obucket.com/albums/ee143/OlDeuce/Burkland.flv">
For the lasr two months the Bonneville Racing News has been running a sit down talk with Gene Burkland and family. I understand there are still several more segments to come. It is about the best stuff I have read in the BRN. Now that Gene is gone and the family seems to be finished running that car it is the last chance for most of us to become informed about it and other Burkland cars.
Thankfully, I've had the chance to see that in person a few times.......I'm getting "Salt Fever" again...thanks for posting it!
If you have ever seen the ****pit in that car and how his leg position is you would be even more impressed
Holeeeey ****. That was bad ***. I (for now)can only imagine being there, that would have made my **** pucker up. Awesome. Thanks for that.
Salt fever mmmmmmm. Love the experience. I think one of the better experiences I liked was tech inspection day, the day before speed week starts.
In 1990, Erin & I went to the Greater Salt Lake Model Car Championships. While there, we visited the Salt Flats. We also got to visit the little museum in Wendover. This car was there... We had our chopped '55 Studebaker at the time. The fellow that owned the museum allowed me to open the car and take photos. It was hard to do with tears in my eyes......
Good vid, thanks. It's amazing what happens when you mix an aeronautical engineer with a couple of Donovan hemis.......
