I was wondering if anyone might have any info or be able to steer me in the right direction.I was trying to find info on the paint color used on the Bill Hines Matranga Merc clone.I think it had a full layout in Street Rodder or one of the magazines over a decade ago. I'm looking to replicate that same color or as close to it as possible.Look forward to your replies, thanks

Not sure how helpful this is, but the original car was a Barris custom mix of '41 Buick maroon, gold, and black. The clone you are refering to was featured in the Sept and Oct 1999 issues of SRM, but I can't find anything with paint details.

There was a recent car done that looks very similar, it used House of Kolors Brandywine over a black base coat. According to the article it was painted by Jimenez Brothers Customs, who I know is on the HAMB, so maybe they have some details on the other cars.

Thanks for the info, I may just have to let my paint guy do some experimenting with the maroon you mentioned/black/ and gold. For the gold would it be mixing in some kind of powder like that Venus Martin gold ?

It looks a bit like early / mid 60's Lincoln "Royal Maroon Metallic", or in Ford terms, "Heritage Burgandy".
