LOL! I was just tagging you asking if I could keep my card. :D

And...it even just sits there and idles like a champ.

We seem to have one less messed up 283 on the HAMB now.

Even found a use for the custom valve covers I modified in high school while I watch all the rockers get oil. Picture was to hide the ugly distributor so my pic wouldn’t get pulled by our buddy @Moriarity. :D

  5. My brother made a set years ago, with holes only, just enough to get a socket on the nut. It cut down on the mess quite a bit.

Yea, if I were to make another set, that would be a much better solution. I honestly don't hardly ever use them anymore since I have rarely had issue with being able to set all the valves before ever starting an engine. These were back when I thought I needed to adjust valves with an engine running. I was reminded of the mess last night when the exhaust valve on #2 cylinder was squirting oil all the way to the inner fender. I just stuffed a paper towel on top of it to keep the mess inside the valve cover.

  9. I had a set of those Lisle clips that plugged the oil holes, but they would go PING... try finding one of those, more miss than hit. I just use an old towel to catch most of it.

I borrowed a set of those from a friend years ago, don't know what I did wrong but a couple of them broke, he said don't worry about it but I knew what it meant was, don't ask again to borrow tools.
Cut the center out of an old 283 valve cover and finished the job.
