I was wandering if anybody knows if you can spray clear over single stage paint. I am a mechinac and I don't know s#@* about pait and body. I am planing to repait my driver with scallops. Root beer metalic with tangerine scallops that have aztec gold fadded in at the tips. I found some real cheap paint but it is single stage, and I'm not sure that fogging the aztec gold over the tips would work good without clearing it.
practice on somthing else first if you have enough paint. this will show you exactly what itll look like with out waisting paint on the car if you dont like it. and yes you can spray clear over single stage just wait for it to cure a bit.
I'd just paint the color, then the accents, and then the clear. Not the color, clear, and then accents. The clear being used to level out the design and edges. Maybe use a non-metallic paint, and then a layer of rainbow dust in the clear, and just clear on top of that.
Thanks Mecrcmad and JDHolmes between the two websites it should answer all my questions, and have me spraying paint in no time I'll more than likly still mess up the 1st time I paint but thats why I'm spraying my grocery getter before I try it on any thing I really like (A.K.A. my 46 ).
