Hi everyone. I built a Fairlane g***er for a customer here in Sierra Vista, Az. From here it was traded for a model A in California somewhere and had a 302 installed in it. From there it went to Ohio and it has been going to shows like crazy. I hear it wound up in a Goodguys magazine a couple months back and I am wondering if someone has the issue or has seen the car or has pics or any info. Here is what it looked like when I finished it.

DUDE!!!! You totally made my day!!! I had a blast building it and the customer had a blast getting looks from everyone!! I even got some "vatos" wanting me to hop it while on a test drive!! What did it run? How is the new motor set up? Thanks again!
Yea me to, I got tired of hearing let the air out. The first run it ran a 20 in the 1/4 mile then the second run it ran 17 but the real problem was no gears,that's kinda why I sold it.For me it needed to be a little faster and to do that I did't want to put that much more money in to it.But overall it was a cool car.But I'm more in to the 20's and 30's cars(rats) if I may say that dirty word.
Was there a determined amount of lift achieved for the rear axle from stock? I like the height, and would like to do the same to mine, except with leaves.
What we did was set the car on jack stands in all kinds of different stances and the owner pointed to it when he liked it and we went from there. The really scary part was testing to see how much the rear springs squashed out when the weight of the car was set on them. I didn't have a lift at the time and I almost had the car fall on top of me! So BE CAREFUL!!! The only thing that stopped the car from crushing me was the sleeve of the jack stand that the part with the notches slides into. Yeah, that piece of 3/16" metal that the frame rested on. Oh and my daily miracle!! LOL!!! From that point I built the ladder bars and rear end brackets so that the top of the bars were even with the bottom of the car. Owner specified. I remember the first test drive. It surprised me how good it tracked and rode. I figured it would ride rather harsh, my front shocks were installed up and down at nearly 90 degree angle and I was later advised that it would be a buck board. Not so. I could cruise in it all day. The rear springs are out of a fox body mustang. You can run leafs if you like, it's just a different mounting system.
OK, thanks. Glad yer safe. I've had a close call like that before, myself. I suppose by knowing the tire and wheel size, I can gauge it from there in the pic, and jack it myself. (going for the **** Landy stance)
HaHa thats where I got into trouble. It's worth the beer but go get a friend to put some extra hands on it while you are down there getting measurements. I swear I didn't lift that rear 1/16" off the stands and that when it happened.
