    Great job.

Can't wait to see the new look.

  2. Once the shock mounts where done & most of the suspension was done I stuck some wheels & tires & had on it and rolled it outside to see the difference & get some new tires/wheels ordered up.

I’m a whitewall guy at heart, so I hope the owner goes for that look. But the stance is much, much, better now with whichever combo you choose. Great job!

  4. With re-wiring the car there was some interior no-nos that needed addressed. The aftermarket column was removed along with the modern half billet wheel and replaced with a '40 column & original wheel Scott fancied that was hanging on the wall. I didn't take a real good before picture but the Autometer lookin gauges where removed & things where re-arranged to look cleaner.

We decided to make a simple little gauge panel to house some Stewart Warners.

  5. I had to work the shifter over some with the torch to clear everything but it worked out.

Thanks for this thread. I need to swap out the off topic front end and rear end of my 3W next winter so this has been particularly helpful although Im not sure we will reach the quality of work you have done.

  7. He wanted to keep the stock large headlights but chop the stands. I took 1/2" to subtlety lower the lights.

  10. New wheels & tires arrived. Took a few spring adjustments and some new shocks. We'll be adding a rear swap bar in the future. It'll also get some new exhaust but for now we fixed the tips. Next is a rear bumper & some polishing before it goes back home to Scott.

Looks great, changed the car completely. The SW gauge panel, is that mild steel or stainless? Just wondering if it will get painted or left?

Stance, wheels and tires. What's the old cliché? Nailed it! My personal opinion that doesn't mean much, no hubcaps, looks tough.

It could not have turned out any better! Job well done. The owner must be itching to pound the pavement. I second the no hubcap recommendation. Is the owner of this 3 window also the owner of the 55 wagon you did?

Where are the bumpers? Bumpers always look the best hanging up on a garage wall!

  25. No, different friend. He's debated on the hub caps but the nice thing is that it's easy to change it up!

  26. Got it on! The straight pickup bumper & short irons really help the look. To me it makes the car look more sporty.

Awesome thread! Amazing how small well thought out changes can make a car even more awesome. I am in the no cap camp too. Really makes it look more hot roddy. That rear truck bumper without the whoop dee doo was a great choice too. Great work!

  30. We had a little local car show that was a good first run for him to take the car to. I got to work polishing up the old lacquer. I usually hate this part but it was kind of fun because the results where so drastic. I love old lacquer & how it looks.
