I'm gonna make another shop purchase, and am considering a tubing bender called the tubeshark... Does anyone here use one of these? Do you like it? advantages, Disadvantages? http://www.tubeshark.com/
I bent tubing for race cars for many years with a Hossfeld No. 2 hydraulic unit. Have you looked at them ? That Tubeshark is an impressive unit in any case !
I have a tubeshark, it is the last model made by the company that designed the bender, before they sold to ISCO. It is a good bender, the newest model has the ability to bend up to 3", mine only goes to 2". The 180deg bends are cool. The 3 reasons I got the tubeshark, square/rectangle tube dies, ITS mandrel system, and I got a killer deal. What are you going to do with the bender? There are other benders for the same or less money that are very good. I has been posted on here before, but there are lots of threads on Pirate4x4 that have some good info about benders, but it is the internet, so there are lots of ******** posts also. If you have any questions about the Tubeshark, I will try to answer them from my experience.
From what I have seen, I like the tube shark, but I have not used one. I have used the JD2 model 3 and 4 A LOT. Personally I like the model 3 with an hydro conversion, even more than the 4. There are a ton of nice benders out there, but unless you are bending 8 hours a day, I say the JD2 model 3, or MB 105 are about the best bang for the $$ you can get.
