Well as of 10am Saturday this was just a bare frame and a pile of parts. Heres where I am at as of Sunday evening. The front is a complete 40 Ford - which will be a suicide axle set up. I will be attaching the reversed eye flat spring to the 40 wishbones via "eyeball" style 3 to 4" behind the bones mount point on the axle. The rear is z'd 4" with the 40 front spring to help bring her down over the rear axle. I was going to go with an A rear spring but it sat to high. Still looks a bit high mounted to the top of the axle. Any suggestions would be great to get her down 3 to 4 more inches.

I set an extra cowl on there to see what it would look like. The Tudor body which I got from Kustombuilder will go on this week. I will have to stock up on beer to bribe some buddies into this hoisting job (any takers). The Tudor will be chopped 3" first to see how it looks on top of the frame. If it looks to high I will then channel her 4".

I am still concerned about teh rear being too high. I would like to use some KILLER 7.50 x 17" wide white wall Denmans I got from Demaagd for teh back on some 17" wires with 16" wires on the front. We'll have to see how it looks.

    Whatcha think?

Coming along good... How much did your step the rear frame and how much to you suspect the rear will come down with the body on it. I am thinking of going with the same rear set up but I was not sure how high it would sit...

Are you using a stock frame? I was thinking of using my stock frame as it look like it is in good shape and from initial measurements appears to be square..

found a pic I thought you might like, thou it has fenders

    Boones -
The step is 4" and it sits 19" off the ground will probably sit down another inch or so. I may have the 40 spring reworked to a reverse eye which would lower another 2" or so. It is a stock frame which came from an old hot rod and was boxed. Just need to be cleaned up and some grinding.

I do like the photo I would think my set up would ride something like the picture. I'll send more photos with the body on.

Brett, I think you'll have to Z the frame more to get it lower with that setup. From what I could see in the pics It looks like your rear spring perches are close to hitting the crossmember now so you might not want to go with a reverse eye spring. How about the stock A spring and remove the top three leafs and put them on the bottom of the pack. In AV8's book I think he said it was good for a couple of inches. I z'd mine 6" and I dont think mine will be low enough. Mike

I looked at the stock A spring - removeing the top 4 leafs and also doing a reverse eye. It still stood 3 to 4" high than the 40 spring. I may just do a higher step.

You can cut an inch off the bottom of the spring perches, and notch the end of the crossmember,& run the reverse eye.Or turn in your Z and cut the crossmember ends off.I like to have as much room in the car as possible,by keeping the Z as small as possible. [IMG]
