How do you take a picture and make it look like a glossy painting in that pic???COOL

  4. A little voodoo and some witchcraft, lol. Actually a photographer took that photo I have no idea how he did it.

  5. Got the headliner mounted last night. My cousin made me the wood strips out of birch plywood. He stained them and put 7 coats of clear on them. I still have to make the trim panel that goes above the windshield. Hopefully I'll have my door panels back from the trim shop in the next couple weeks then it should be done. The cover for the fuel filler tube gave me a hard time when it came time to cover it. I just couldn't get the vinyl not to wrinkle on the top. I had a idea, just cover it up! I scored a Southwind heater off eBay for $20. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452649737.620479.jpg
I'm only using the housing, I trimmed the back side to fit the shape of the trim panels. A quick bead blast, paint, and polish on the stainless trim. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1452650047.460905.jpg
    What filler tube?

Think I'm gonna put a piece of wind lace under it to cover the little bit of filler tube that you can see.

Dare I say it, "That heater is cool"!
Still one of my favorite threads on the HAMB, so many clever ideas, and executed beautifully.
    Keep up the good work.

  13. I took the car to have it striped over the weekend. I had Jim Prohaska stripe it, I would say Jim is the top guy in this area when it comes to striping. He was striping cars and trucks for my dad all the way back into the early 70's. I wanted the strips to be very subtle and for it not to jump out at you when you first look at the car. Got my door panels back. I'll have to make a run to Mac's for more garnish molding screws ( some dummy doesn't know how to count).

I cut down a set of stainless windshield garnish moldings. I had to weld up a 3/8" hole in the bottom and polish them.

Wow! Amazing work. How did you reshape your cowl band? I bought a repop and the corners don't fit well.

  27. Thanks, yea the new cowl bands fit like shit. I tried carefully bending the corners a little tighter. It still doesn't fit as well as I'd like but it'll do.

Looks great! How'd it do on the drive down?

  29. Thanks, but three people, luggage and 5 hours in snow/ rain mix wouldn't work out so well. I trailered it, trust me it's not gonna be a trailer queen I will drive the shit out of it!
