  1. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329177233.143730.jpg Finished product, I'm going to paint the radiator black and make a grille out of stainless mesh that will also be painted black. There will also be a fan shroud that will cover the back side of the radiator.

  2. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329179850.835561.jpg I also finished up the sub rails that are over top the gas tank.

  3. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329684603.769977.jpg . The floors are done with the exception of the access doors for the fuel sending unit and roll over vent.

  4. ImageUploadedByTJJ1329684819.025552.jpg Gonna tape it up now and spray some epoxy on it.

I know it's a shitty picture, but I made a grill to protect and help hide the radiator. The frame is 16ga stainless and the mesh is also stainless. The whole assembly bolts between the radiator and the shell.

Can't even tell there's an aluminum radiator hiding in there.

Thanks man, this is how it looks as of now. I took it to the Cavalcade of Cars show this weekend. Pretty pumped to get this thing done now.

Oh yea I forgot to mention the car won "best traditional hot rod". Got this bad ass trophy made by Paul Straus. Just want to say thanks to all the guys who made this happen.

  13. Thanks, gonna start tearing the car apart tonight so I can finish welding the underside of the body and frame. Next body work and paint.

I'm really liking the rollbar setup under the cowl. Going to try to incorporate something similar in mine as well, thanks for the inspiration!

  18. Haven't worked on the car in almost 1 1/2 years. Good news is no more working in a small 2 car garage. My wife and I sold our house, bought a acre of land and built a new house and 40'x40' pole barn. Now that the barn is done and the house stuff is done for now I'm back on the car. 19. Started tying up some loose ends on the front suspension. I added another tab for the lower shock mount on the wishbone. Since I cut the bones to set the caster and with all our shitty roads I added a small gusset to the bottom for a little extra strength. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376516753.324444.jpg

  20. I also added a steering dampener. I figure it couldn't hurt having one especially with the cowl steering. I cut the end off the dampener and welded a rod end to it and welded a tab to the wishbone. It's a tight fit and not too noticeable and everything clears. I would have taken a break too, for a shop like that! Nice build!...... Now get back to the car!! :)

  22. Got a few more things done. With the wheels turned full lock to the left the tire would rub on the steering arm. So I made a small button that I welded to the back of the spindle. 23. There was a small amount of flex in the steering box mount. Since the box only has three mounting bolts and they are all on one end of the box. I added a diagonal tube to the bottom of the box mount. And I made a small tab to bolt the other end of the box down. I know it looks really tight, but every thing clears with no problem. Looks like the new shop is great and now your making progress on the hotrods again...

  25. Thanks, its slow going but I try and work on it every night. I usually don't get out in the shop until 8:30 when my son goes to bed.

  28. I finished up the steering box frame. The pedals, master cylinders, and fuse box will also be mounted to it too. I put 18 small tabs on it so the kick panels and firewall panel will have a place to mount to. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1377223034.620355.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1377223063.320651.jpg
