What is the stuff called that you pour into your engine block if you do not want to use water? It hardens & fills the water jackets. How long can you run your engine with this? ( without overheating) Thanx!! Arnie
If running gas,you will need to circulate some coolant.Through the head for sure.If you don't fill the water jackets to the top.You will be able to pump coolant though the top of the cylinders.Concider using alcohol from the begining.
your not gonna lighten it up using hard block! most racers use it so they can go big on cylinder bore, they use the hard block to support the cylinder walls. just drain your block dry and run alky, it will run cool. Paul
G'day, We used hardblock in our ot drag car engine. We are using a 4.25 bore big block which technically you are supposed to be able to bore .125. We are at .130 and have hardblock up to the water pump bosses. We are then able to run coolant through the top couple of inches of block and through the heads. Works slick. Car does not over heat at all even the couple of times I accidently drove it on city streets, wink wink. ms
+2 on lighting it. The stuff is heavy. Gottelli used to sell Block Rock which was a resin and lighter than the cement. But I don't think they still do.
