I am curious as to what artists everyone wrenches to? What drives you to get the project done? This is also a lame way for me to know what other 50s or rockabilly artists to listen for.

I like anything Brian Setzer (Stray Cats), Mike Ness, and a very cool Christian Rockabilly band called The Pioneers.

I really get into the early 50s rock and roll, Leon Smith, Sleepy LaBeef, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochrane, and early Elvis '56 '57, the early shit

There was a thread about this a couple months ago that went for a while. Try doing a search for garage music or something of that sort.

I like a lot of stuff, but nothing gets me cranking like "old" Black Sabbath and "extremely old" Rolling Stones. I really don't go for the mainstream stuff that gets played on Clearchannel stations. There's gold on them thar B-sides...

Mad Fabricator's Soundtrack! Nothing is more rad than my girlfriend's 10 year old son singing Bleed songs in the garage. Maybe Evel has another one coming out with MFS III? Hmmm? Please? :D

Slightly more O/T, but I picked up a Sirius sat. radio last week and I've been a little disappointed in the "Underground Garage" station.

graverobber- you pretty much listed my stack of cd's in the shop. . . .plus punk. Check our brant bjorks solo stuff. . . if you like all that you'll like his stuff.

KYUSS may be great shop music, but it's the best driving music.

I love lots of different music, but if you're talking about what I put on to really get me fired up to bust ass in the garage when I need a little extra kick...

"Bricks Are Heavy" album by L7
"Built To Perform" album by Phantom Blue
    "Castle Walls" album by Damzel
    "5150" album by Van Halen
    "Third Stage" album by Boston
    "Afterburner" album by ZZ Top

When the thrash to get some heavy work done is over, and I'm just going over the details or fine tuning a project, I drop a gear and get into...

    Tom T Hall
    The Go-Gos
    David Allan Coe
    Debbie Davies
    Squeeze
    John Schneider(yes, for real!)
    Belinda Carlisle
    House Of Schock
    The Delphines
    The Graces
    Bob Seger
    John Cougar

and all the Groovy pop and DISCO hits of the 70s, Man!!!

I've got pics from the Pileup at home. The car was bought by a local guy by me. Its in the thread on here by Green Goblin on the Munster, In car show. Its a reddish copper color with an early Hemi. There is a spiderweb roof insert in it. (can't remember how to post a link)

Oh, and I rock out to AudioSlave, Pantera, Metallica, and anything with old blues riffs in it.

(HACK, you're an animal. Now I see how you get so much done.)
-some of that stuff would make me want to get out of the garage quick too! :D:D

Any Early Metallica is good for wrenching

Ride The Lightning is my favorite

I prefer my rockabilly in a more casual setting, like at party, or while bowling.

With the two lists above I agree, but, kinda surprised not to see Tiger Army on either one.

Latest CD I got was from our own Django - Hotrod Hucksters, with a bitchin' version of Muleskinner Blues.
