I tore apart my turbo 350 and found that 3 of the springs on the forward5 clutch drum are broken. There are 21 loose springs on my unit, anyone have a source or have any used ones?

    Don't put used ones in.

Brand new direct clutch spring sets are under $30, plus shipping, with the retainer, and even less without.

If you are ok with used, you can get the entire ***embly for $25, plus the ride: https://globaltransmissionparts.com/th350-direct-piston-kit/

I have been trying to find new ones but internet search turns up nothing. Do you have a source or reference for them?

also it looks like the direct clutch sprigs are different than the forward clutch drum apply springs.

Turbo 350 clutch drum springs are generally different for forward and direct drums.

The springs and retainer are separate on earlier models. The most common was forward drum springs were green and heavier than the purple, lighter springs in the direct drum.
Sometimes, the color can be gone.

If the springs and retainer are integral, you will need to replace as an ***embly.

I replace collapsed or broken springs with good used all the time, without issue.
If the springs and retainer are integral, just replace as an ***embly.

Go to a local trans shop or talk to a supplier like Fatcso or Northwest Transmission Parts.

Better buff all that rust off the input splines before you put it together.

You could always do the hillbilly shift kit modification, although I would not recommend it, and install 6 springs, space, 6 springs, space, 6 springs, space. You may get a harder apply though, I have seen it done before.

I think that is what the prior re builder did, as the 3 springs weren't broken they were missing, hoping to find some to get back to all 21 of the springs.

I wouldn’t bother. Leave them out. May apply very, very, very slightly firmer but you will never notice.
