As much as some would choose to change it, it's not just a hot rod site, it's a Traditional Hot Rod site, a huge part of that is how it looked back in the day. When the stuff is just so blatantly modern it doesn't fit despite how old the car is.

Hot rods were originally about improving a car using creativity and a lot of production parts. Usually that meant later parts from various cars. For some, it has turned into reliving some point in time and rejecting whatever doesn't fit with that. But interesting, many of those people routinely accept certain later parts while strongly condemning/rejecting others. Parts allowed may include newer engines, transmissions, axles, suspension, brakes, steering hardware, AC, lighting, alternators, power steering, radial tires, types of paint, etc, etc, etc. If someone puts a Toyota engine and trans, and Cortina rear axle in a Model "A" it's not hurting anyone. Whether I would do that or not, I don't care if someone else does. I think fits with what a hot rod is/was about, but that's me.

I gotta agree with Henry's 57, and most of the other replys on this thread. That car is very impressive. I have been collecting parts over the years & have a 48 Anglia, an 87 turbo T-Bird 2.3 eng with a 5 speed trans. Now all I gotta do is live long enough to get all my projects togather and start on that one.

In the late '70s there was a Ford engineer who had a turbocharged 2.3L powered Pinto that ran in the 9s. Even with out huge rear tires it did a pretty good wheelstand.
