Turkey Rod Run Event Coverage! Just rolled into town about 1:30 today. Didn't go to the track but we did head out to Bellair Plaza! Here is my blog post with all the pictures from that event. http://jdsmotorsports.wordpress.com...run-daytona-beach-2012-thursday-belair-plaza/ Here are a few HAMB worthy rides! Heading out to the track in the morning. TONS of pictures to come
Danny, If they were taken at the Belair plaza, then yes there is a ton of forsale signs. it is the afterhours cruise spot and it seems everyone is trying to sell their ride.
My pictures will be posted here: http://www.turkeyrun.com/photo_gallery.html in a day or so. If you want to look at previous Turkey Run Pictures go here: http://www.jalopyweb.com/
Took a ton of pictures today, will be tomorow night late when i post them though hotel internet isnt working!
Finally got the internet to work at the motel, well not really, I'm on my verizon 3G hotspot through my phone. But never the less I have some pictures! I've only loaded the ones from Bellair Plaza tonight. I have over 500 pictures from the track but those will have to wait until I get home tomorrow night and get some decent internet. All right here are the rest of Friday's pictures. See my blog entry for all of them. http://jdsmotorsports.wordpress.com...n-2012-friday-daytona-international-speedway/ A few HAMB style fav's!
I think this was the biggest meet ever.. All 555 pictures are here or go to the Turkey Run Website: http://www.jalopyweb.com/turkeyrun12/ Cadman
I'm sure there are a lot of nice cars that can be considered Hamb friendly but is the Turkey Run open to everything? There seems to be a lot of shock rods,rr's and just plain ugly crap! HRP
I WAS THERE Friday ,Walked around for about 3 hours. The show is to big for me.Lots of newer cars for sale things like 2005 T-Birds,vetts,trucks,And lots of bikes.Large number of vendors selling every thing under the sun,But not a lot of bargains.Swap meet was huge with anything you could want.If you wanted to pay the price.I left the track and went to the plaza.Again lots of newer stuff.most for sale.I seem to like smaller shows and swaps,But that is just me.
Great pics Cadman! Glad you got a shot of that Cat thing whatever it was lol. I saw it driving down the road but never saw it at the show! Different for sure! Yeah there is a WIDE variety of stuff, part of what makes the Turkey Rod Run so cool. You never know what you will see!
I would have loved seeing that thing on the road! Can you imagine seeing that thing coming up behind you in the rearview mirror.... Whoa....
D.R. don"t confuse the car coral with the car show. The corral is pretty much just a used car lot.I do aggree that there are too many later model and just plain ugly car's.I am at a loss to explain the rat rod thing. I thought by now it would have run it's course. So is Florida the only place where big show's have too many later model and just plain ugly car's ? Gregg
I'm sorry, but that Caterpillar thing is the antithesis of a hot rod, it is regardless of time, effort and money an exercise in gawd knows what, and I wish shit like that would go away forever, but as long as people fawn over them there will be an even more ridiculous specimen being built in an attempt to outdo it. Rant over. And yes there were some really fine cars there built by really fine people.
My top ten picks. http://jdsmotorsports.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/jdsmotorsports-com-top-ten-picks-turkey-rod-run-2012/
TRR entries must 20yrs. old or older with exception of "specialty" vehicles approved by the club. But there are plenty of H.A.M.B. friendly rides n folks there. Plus if your lookin for parts, you can't beat it.
