The heads are off awaiting my inspection when I get back to PA this weekend. We're gonna pull em all apart and make sure everything's up to snuff before proceeding. I can't wait to get an "in person" look at this engine. Hard to diagnose stuff over the phone!

yup, now if we can just get it to run right!:D

Yep, that's what I said. Better to do it now than on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere! See you at the drags...

The Isky should be arriving at Matt's tomorrow by UPS. Saturday thrash!!!

The valve clearances are perfect, no burnt valves or other sillyness... just a broken pushrod and a few bent ones. Matt said he was starting it once a while back and the timing had gotten knocked way advanced and it kicked back REALLY hard. Hard enough to knock a few pushrods out of their cups and do them in? It was hard enough to shear a bunch of teeth off the ring gear! So... we pulled the engine, put a new ring gear on it. Dropped it back in, installed the new isky cam and lifters and started buttoning it up for it's second coming. BTW, we finally measured up the bore and stroke... it's a genuine 377 ci stroker!:eek::eek:

Shawn, she's runnin alright! NO OVERHEATING!!!!:D:D:D We still have the single 2bbl on there that we used to break in the new cam. And even with that arrangement, IT... HAULS... ASS! It will burn rubber as long as you can dare to hold the throttle down. I'm just pleased as punch with how this chassis turned out too. It rides perfectly, nice and smooth and steers like a go kart. He's got a few safety items to take care of (hand wiper, seat belts, door latch, etc...) and then it's going in for enhanced inspection. After that, it gets blown apart for paint and detailing, 6x2 intake tuning, etc...

It's been a while since I had a tape on it but I'd guess the frame is about 26" wide up front, and gradually widens toward the rear to roughly 40" or so. It's runnning an original model a spring up front with 4 or 5 leaves removed. We didn't bend any square tube, we just cut and welded it. Thanks!

Thanks man, I know I've said it before, but your T was a big influence on this build. Thank YOU!

Thanks, Matt built this car in a one car garage while working full time plus overtime at NAPA and going to school with probably about a 6k investment over the course of 2 years. He'll obviously have more in it after paint, polishing, chrome and interior, but it's proof it can be done!

Excellent result from tons of labor. I've got to believe you experienced much the same emotion as Grabowski did the first time he took his "CREATION" down the road. No repo stuff here, just good old fashioned steel, blood sweat and stick-to-it-ivness. WELL DONE !!!!
