Well, I sold my 59 El Camino, so that was my big success. Sold to guy from Sweden, so it is going overseas. Also sold about $200 worth of misc parts, borrowing a bit of space from Sam's spot where I hung out most of the time. Also bought a fairly nice grille for my 49 Ford COE ($50), the grille has the stainless bar covers, mine are just painted. Also a cheap A/C condenser for $5. I agree that there was some high prices, but also there were some good deals. Kind of like any swap meet lately.
first time to turlock for me and i actually thought the prices were really good for the most part. i got 2 32 shells with inserts, 1 32 truck shell, a very nice dropped 32 axle, a sprint car steering wheel, 5 moon disc, 5 33 chevy hubcaps, a six gauge set of the new white faced stewart warner wing gauges, a sun tach, a snap on cylinder hone, a few misc other gauges, a few stop lights including one with the arrow turn signals, some welding gloves, and some other little junk all for right around a grand. the big finds for me actually came from an estate sale that we hit up on the way to turlock in L.A. where i got about 100 sockets and another 100 wrenches that are all early snap-on and plumb plus a whole bunch of other stuff for scrap prices.
I got lucky, actually found what I was looking for...an axle, carrier and a set of spider gears and cros shafts for my '40 rearend for 20 bucks, bought some other diddly stuff, not worth mentioning
I went to the Long Beach swap meet. you sure could tell that everybody else was at Turlock. but, it sure was warmer than back home in Indy
