IMO, the 56 is by far the best of the three... ...but then again, im weird, and would take a 58 Delray over any 55-57.
Keep up the search, a double nickle is out there. There was a 56 vert running around Vegas years ago , bright red with a 57 rear clip , the owner called it a "Chinese Corvette" !! Last seen in Bill Dischbien's wrecking yard. I have owned several trifives through the years and just purchsed 56 sport sedan with all the parts and the power pack engine , a redheaded stepchild to some but it IS a 56 none the less. PM with the info on the post car ,thanks.Spence
That blue Wagon?!? just hurt my eyes and the '55 4-door hard top is just perfect!! I've thought about making one of those for alot of years!
56's are hot right now. If you have to have a 55, why not buy one and save yourself a lot of time and money?
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Seems a 1953 Studebaker Starlight found its way into the garage somehow Something about it just sparked my interest! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=619455
That might be a little harder to turn into a 55 chevy than a 56 chevy would have been Congrats on the stude!
it you want a 55 wait and buy one. Or, you could buy the 56, have fun with it and continue looking for the 55 you would like to have. Then sell the 56.
Congrats on the stude I guess, but if you truly wanted a 55,you will still be looking for the 55 and this stude as cool as it is, will be the side track vehicle thats consuming your money, causing you not to be able to buy the 55. This stude must have been a better deal than the 56 I guess because it looks like if you were going to settle for something else you would have bought the 56???
Too bad you haven't realized that there are way too many 55 and 57 Chevy's around. The 56 is the cool middle brother buddy!
Nice Stude !! I always have liked those body lines, and sounds like most of the difficult work is already done! Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress! Cheers............
I wish I could turn my '62 Olds into a Tri Five Chevy! But I would want a magic wand, so that it would be numbers matching and wouldn't be a Frankenstein car bc that would eat at me knowing it wasn't original.
imo 56 is the best of the trio. don't cut it up. you will have more time, money and energy in it than its worth. save your cash and wait for the right car.
Don't hate me..... But I think that any 56', is is just an ugly copy of a 55". I SAID DON"T HATE ME!!!
