That was the****le, I believe, of a humorous article that appeared in one of the little books in the '50s. I think it was Honk! or its successor Car Craft, and I'm guessing that it was pre-1956. The point of the article was to poke fun at too-low customs, and the impracticality of driving them. If I'm mistaken about the****le, that line appeared within the article -- perhaps as the opening sentence.

I'd like to re-read this article. Anybody recall when/where it appeared? Rikster? Lurker Mick?

I dont recal this particular article... but then I dont have every Honk issue in my collection.

But there is some fun reading about low cars in this article as well. Right column.

Thanks, Rik. I remember the Jacques Ford; very atypical style from Valley Custom (so low, I mean).

Tony, I have every Honk issue and it was not in any of them that I could see.

Sorry, I'll look in some other****les.

Thanks for the effort, Mick. I recall that it had a cartoon illustration with it; not Medley, too early for Carl Kohler or Pete Millar -- can't remember who did it.
