been working on getting the body smooth most every day for a while here, just put another double coat of high fill on it, the bod's all one color now, kinda like it, it says HOT ROD to me. prolly go with a dark color though, the fit around the doors and especialy the trunk lid are not exactly perfect,, whatcha think?
Absotively wicked! The dark color will definitely hide uneven body gaps. Black suede will completely bury them. That car would look******in' red oxide. Or tint the red oxide darker a couple o'shades. Nice work thus far, man!
lookin good! how about a satin midnight blue with those wide whites and cast wheels...awesome! hope to see it in person at a show this summer.
[ QUOTE ] Paul/ what kind of rear taillight applic. are ya thinking about? [/ QUOTE ] I'll put this stuff back on till somethin better turns up..
I've been sanding and priming the past 3 days straight!I'm with ya man.I wish I was sanding that and not my glass pos!
[ QUOTE ] I've been sanding and priming the past 3 days straight!I'm with ya man.I wish I was sanding that and not my glass pos! [/ QUOTE ] I too know the feeling....... I've spent the last few MONTHS doing body work on my***** box. I think i have 'glass dust in my blood by now. 60's Style, The car looks GREAT! I know i've said it before, but, thats one BAD SUMBIATCH! Rat.
Hey Paul... somebody told me you were gonna paint that thing House Of Kolors Gloss****tie Pink? Is that true hommie? hahahaha I like the gray... gives it some additude. Put some white scallops on da******.
[ QUOTE ] House Of Kolors Gloss****tie Pink [/ QUOTE ] wachoo talkin bout Tohneee? who told you!?!? 'went to the paint store and the gal behind the counter was more than accomidating, she even volunteered a sample to color match! being a married man and all I had to decline, but there was a dog outside the store with it's lipstick out, I said match that! so dog***** red it is! hahaha Paul
Looking "GOOD", with the exception of the eng, it reminds me of the hot rods I used to drive and see while working at the lazy "B" building 707s in the 50s, early 60s. Hanging out at the "Barrel" and the Drive in off the end of Ballard bridge, Cubby's I think and the "LIL Stinker" gas stations at 19cents a gallon, Hell, used crusie all night for a couple a bucks. even all the way out to "Sun" field for the "Midnite Nationals" I still have the 34 Ford I had then along w/ a loaded up 48 Merc "59AB". It gave way to a 56 Olds, Offy dual afbs,covers, mild cam home made headers, starter change over, etc. Its still in it today, havent driven the 34 since 62. Well gotta go get the 40 ready for the "Crusin on Central" tonight. Keep up the great work!! Dave
color will be black, DP90, because I have it. maybe a blue flake someday when I can afford it. I don't remember smokin' crack but for some reason I just cut a hole in the sheet metal and dropped the gas cap in place.. gunna fill the trunk with a gas tank. should leave just enough room for a HAMB shirt if I pack it right. Paul
60's Style you and I went to the same school. I want that relic you are building. $400 or $500 bucks do the job?
[ QUOTE ] The cap kinda looks like the ones on newer Vipers GTS coupes...is it? [/ QUOTE ] ??*****... now I know I*****ed up.. it's old school sixties LeMans style like Moon or Eelco but no name on it, kinda like Cobra and other roadrace cars used. the caps big, like 3-1/2" I think it stays. pulled the tank out of the '35 Dodge, poured about two gallons of the ripest old gas out of it, must have been about thirty years old from the last time I had it running. wuz gunna use it in the trunk 'cause it's a perfect fit, but I think it's a little TOO old school and will make a tank to fit. I'll use the Dodge tank in the Bucket;
"??*****... now I know I*****ed up.. it's old school sixties style like Moon or Eelco but no name on it, kinda like Cobra and other roadrace cars used. the caps big, like 3-1/2" I think it stays." Nah, it looks cool...it just looked really small for one of the Cobra/race cars ones from the old days in the pic...the ones on the Viper from what I was looking at are a little smaller and would be great for applications that need something a little slimmer...but your car looks cool!
Paul, what is the body that you have on the modified project you've started. It looks like a T cowl, doors and a touring rear panel. Close? Frank
