Nice! The only thing about those A.C. Gilbert sets (and Marx also) is that you have to run their cars. Any other brand slot car won't work on their tracks.

True, and the American Flyer track is getting hard to come across. Have a couple of AF sets that are a little newer, with Corvettes and the hand speed controller looks like a little gas pedal. It's all fun stuff. You mentioned in an earlier post about track for the Cox gas cars. Didn't know that existed, have a number of cars and that would be wild.

  3. That was very kind of the new Texan. The mini Cochran is one lucky dude!

Ah yes the slut car days LOL My first set was the Aorora Model Motoring back in 62. It had the lil ol steering wheels for controllers. The catch was, I had to learn my times tables before my mom would let me open the box. Well that blew as I sucked in arithmetic. So out came the flash cards and the constant testing by the boss. But, the good thing that came out of it, I still know my times tables from that year. Not that I ever use em tho LOL My parents told me: If you don't know anything else, you have to know math!!! Well that was a crock of shit!! Little did we know back then about calculators coming in the future.
